Stress in life is unavoidable. I found that after taking my first Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course in 2008, and practicing mindfulness regularly, I began to manage stress better.
I have a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and have worked in that field for many years. I took the MBSR teacher training with Bob Stahl so I could introduce others to the benefits of mindfulness. I also took a 7 day retreat for MBSR teachers led by Jon Kabat-Zinn. I have completed the Practice Teaching Intensive and I am qualified, by the Center for Mindfulness, to teach MBSR. I have taught MBSR in Santa Cruz and Los Gatos.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
An 8 week course that gives the participant an opportunity to experience the benefits of a mindfulness practice first hand.
The classes are 2 1/2 hours in length. There is skillful guidance and the chance to learn from each other's experience, as well as our own. Various meditations and mindful movement activities will be explored. There is a "daylong" session between the 6th and 7th weeks.
